Success Stories

“I was drowning in debt and afraid to even look at my bank account. The counselors at Pathway Plus helped me face my financial situation without judgment and create a plan that actually worked for my life. For the first time in years, I feel in control of my money instead of my money controlling me.”

— Maria, Nashville

“After leaving the military, I struggled to make sense of civilian finances. The Veteran Financial Transition workshop gave me the tools I needed to navigate my benefits, manage my budget, and start planning for my family’s future. I’m now debt-free and building savings for the first time in my life.”

— Robert, U.S. Army Veteran

“When I came to America, I didn’t understand how banking worked here and was afraid to ask. Pathway Plus provided workshops in my language and helped me open my first account. Now I have good credit and am saving to buy a house. They treated me with respect and gave me the knowledge I needed to succeed.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pay for services?

No. Our core services are provided free of charge. For specialized counseling, we offer a sliding scale based on income for those who don’t meet our free service guidelines.

What should I bring to my first counseling session?

If possible, bring recent financial statements (bank accounts, credit cards, loans), pay stubs, bills, and any letters from creditors. However, don’t worry if you don’t have these—we can still help you get started.

Do I need to have a financial crisis to use your services?

Not at all. While we do help people in crisis, many of our clients are simply looking to improve their financial knowledge and build stronger financial futures.

Is my information kept confidential?

Absolutely. We maintain strict confidentiality and will never share your personal or financial information without your explicit permission.

Do you offer services in languages other than English?

Yes. We currently offer services in Spanish, Arabic, and Amharic. For other languages, we can arrange for interpretation services with advance notice.

Will you help me file for bankruptcy?

We don’t provide legal advice or file bankruptcy paperwork, but we can help you understand your options and refer you to appropriate legal resources if bankruptcy might be the right choice for your situation.
